
MOSCOW (BNS): Russia is offering Cuba its space technology and would help the latter build its own space center. Currently, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin is leading a delegation on a tour of Latin America.
According to a RIA Novosti report, Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov, who is part of the team said that the two countries were working on a space cooperation agreement. He said that they were also considering ways of jointly using the earth remote sensing satellites and space-based telecommunication systems.
Perminov said that talks were on to allow Cuba the use of GLONASS satellite navigation system, and building of a space center. �We have tentatively discussed the possibility of assisting Cuba to build its own space center,� the Roscosmos chief said.
RIA Novosti quoted Perminov as saying that Cuban specialists would be visiting Russia to learn more about the state-of-the-art space technology and equipment.
