Fifty Su-35 Flanker E multirole fighters will join Russian Air Force.
MOSCOW (BNS): The Russian Defence Ministry is planning to procure up to 100 Sukhoi fighter aircraft for its Air Force by 2015, according to a media report.
“Three state contracts with the Sukhoi design bureau on the supply of the aircraft have been already signed,” RIA Novosti quoted ministry's official spokesman Col. Vladimir Drik as saying.
Almost Fifty advanced Su-35 Flanker-E multirole fighters, billed as "4++ generation using fifth-generation technology, more than ten advanced Su-27SM Flanker multirole aircraft and five Su-30M2 Flanker-C multirole fighters will be supplied to the Air Force, it said.
Twenty-five new Su-34 Fullback fighter-bombers are also expected to join the Air Force in next few years, the report said.
