MOSCOW (PTI): Russia successfully test-launched a multiple warhead intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from a nuclear submarine on Sunday, the Defence Ministry said without identifying the type of the missile.
"On November 1, the Northern Fleet's nuclear-powered missile-carrying submarine, Bryansk, successfully test-launched an intercontinental ballistic missile in the Barents Sea from a submerged position".
"The warheads reached the target area at the designated time," the Defence Ministry said in a statement reported by RIA Novosti.
It did not however, clarify whether it was yet another test of the new generation Bulava multiple independent re-entry vehicles (MIRV) multiple warheads or a fresh one.
So far due to several technical glitches Bulava has not passed the routine tests for induction by the navy.
