MOSCOW (BNS): Russian scientists have developed new mobile radar 55Zh6ME to enhance the capabilities of the aerospace defence sector of the nation.
The new radar has the ability to detect targets at the distance of up to 1,800 kilometers and an altitude of up to 1,200 km.
"The radar has been developed for the Russian Armed Forces, especially for aerospace defences," RIA Novosti quoted a spokesman for the Nizhniy Novgorod Research Institute of Radio Engineering (NNIIRT) as saying.
Russian military will soon receive the delivery of the first batch of the mobile-radar, he added.
Soon a unified strategic aerospace defence command will setup by Russia to integrate existing air defence and missile defence networks, early warning systems and aerospace monitoring systems, it said.
