MOSCOW (BNS): Russia has recently delivered two Mi-35P Hind E attack helicopters to Peru, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the disassembled helicopters were delivered to the South American country on board a Russian A-124-100 Condor transport aircraft.
"The helicopters will be tested in the air in the next few days before the official transfer to the Peruvian Air Force," Korotchenko, the head of Russia's Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade, was quoted as saying in the news report.
The Mi-35 is the export version of the original Mil Mi-24 helicopter and is armed with anti-tank missile systems for the engagement of moving armoured targets, weapon emplacements and slow-moving air targets. All versions retain the troop transport capability.
The helicopters will be used in anti-drug and anti-terrorism efforts in the valley of the Apurimac and Ene rivers.
