Rear Admiral Sanjay Mahindru takes over as Flag Officer Submarines

VISAKHAPATNAM (PTI): Rear Admiral Sanjay Mahindru has assumed the duty of Flag Officer, Submarines.

He took the charge on Friday from Rear Admiral S V Bokhare.

Mahindru was commissioned on January 1, 1985, and has served for 27 years in the Submarine Arm, according to an ENC release here.

He has commanded a conventional submarine, a frigate and a destroyer, prior to assuming command of nuclear submarine Arihant. Whilst serving ashore, the officer commanded the Navy's Submarine Training Establishment and has been a Director at Naval Headquarters.

He is an alumnus of the prestigious College of Naval Warfare and has also completed the Staff Course in the United Kingdom, the release added.
