MOSCOW (BNS): Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Wednesday visited the BrahMos pavilion at MAKS 2011 International Aviation and Space Salon and appreciated the successful Joint Venture between India and Russia.

Putin said, “BrahMos is a brilliant example of international defence cooperation. It is a role model which has given excellent results. We should have more such ventures and our partnership should grow manifold.”

He also wished the Joint Venture success in all its endeavours.

Putin on Wednesday officially inaugurated the six-day international air show that opened in the Moscow Region town of Zhukovsky on August 16.

BrahMos Aerospace, on the first day of the air show, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) and NPO Mashinostroyeniya (NPOM) Corporation to establish a Centre of Excellence for High Speed Aerodynamics.

BrahMos Aerospace, a Joint Venture company between India and Russia, is the producer of BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missiles.
