Pak, Myanmar keen to enhance defence ties


ISLAMABAD (PTI): Pakistan and Myanmar on Thursday said they are keen to expand their close ties by strengthening cooperation in the field of defence, trade and investment.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Myanmar, General Min Aung Hlaing, and said the two countries enjoy close bilateral ties which Pakistan wishes to strengthen in the time to come.

"Pakistan would like to see the bonds of friendship between the two countries to grow stronger...We would like to extend our full cooperation to Myanmar in all fields including defence and economic cooperation," Sharif said.

General Min Aung said Myanmar wished to expand its relations with Pakistan especially in the field of defence, trade and investment.
