MUMBAI (PTI): Twenty-eight officers and three jawans were presented gallantry and distinguished service awards here on Thursday on the occasion of the 67th Army Day.
The Southern Command Investiture Ceremony was conducted at Gateway of India this evening under the aegis of HQ MG & G Area.
Lieutenant General Ashok Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command, honoured the awardees.
These awards include eight Sena Medals (Gallantry), four Uttam Yudha Seva Medals, one Bar to Sena Medal, six Sena Medals (Distinguished) and eight Vishist Seva Medals.
The Army Commander also bestowed Unit Citation to 14 units of Southern Command for their meritorious and outstanding performance.
