Northrop Grumman partners with Indian firms for F-16 radar components

WASHINGTON (BNS): Northrop Grumman Corporation in association with Bangalore-based Bharat Electronics Limited and Dynamatic Technologies Limited will manufacture components of the F-16 APG-68(V) 9 fire control radar. The first delivery is expected to take place in the second quarter of this year.

Katie Gray, vice president of Northrop Grumman's Global Sensor Solutions business unit said that the two companies were selected after they were best positioned to offer the depth of capability required to meet customers' cost demand, schedule, and quality standards.

As part of a comprehensive co-production programme, Northrop Grumman engineers will work along with engineering teams from Bharat Electronics Limited and Dynamatic Technologies Limited to provide training and support to ensure a smooth transition to production. The engineering teams will collaborate on all aspects of the manufacturing process, beginning with a formal Production Readiness Review and concluding with First Article Inspection and First Article Test milestones.
