BENGALURU (PTI): State-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has completed noise measurement flight trials for Advance Light Helicopter, Dhruv, for European Certification.
The trials were conducted at Mysuru airport recently in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), HAL said in a release on May 21.
The trials involved advance acoustic programming and compensation of atmospheric variables against measured noise levels.
Spanish company Anotec Consulting was contracted to provide hardware, software and technical support for the programme, it said.
Preliminary analysis of the recorded noise data, weather parameters and the aircraft parameters show that the noise levels are within the acceptable limits specified by International Civil Aviation Organisation for ALH, HAL CMD T Suvarna Raju said.
HAL said the objective of this process is to measure the external aircraft noise levels in three flight conditions like take-off, approach and flyover.
