Minister of State for Defence praises indigenisation efforts of BrahMos JV

THIRUVIDANTHAI, TAMIL NADU (BNS): Minister of State for Defence Dr. Subhash Bhamre on Thursday visited the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion at DefExpo 2018 and praised the indigenisation efforts being made by the Indo-Russian JV entity.

The Minister was briefed about the formidable BRAHMOS Weapon System and its recent successful achievements by Dr. Sudhir K Mishra, Distinguished Scientist & DG (BrahMos), DRDO & CEO and MD BrahMos Aerospace.

Dr. Bhamre was apprised about the BRAHMOS Land Mobile Complex, Naval Fleet Platform, and the latest successful launch of BRAHMOS air-version weapon.

He congratulated the BrahMos JV on the successful launches and particularly, the indigenisation efforts being taken up by the JV.

As many as 451 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements worth Rs 1.53 lakh crore were signed during the Defence Expo or DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar, a senior official said. During the valedictory function of the 12th edition of DefExpo at the Mahatma Mandir convention centre, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar informed the audience that it had broken previous records in terms of business generation.
