Military delegates from various countries visit BrahMos pavilion and enquire about BRAHMOS Weapon System at LAAD 2023

NEW DELHI (BNS): Indian-Russian JV company, BrahMos Aerospace, the producer of the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile,  participated at South America’s premier Defence and Security trade show – LAAD, showcasing the BRAHMOS Weapon System in various configurations.
 
General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian People's National Army and Indian Ambassador to Brazil, HE Shri Suresh K Reddy jointly inaugurated the BrahMos Pavilion on the opening day of the International Defence and Security fair, held at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
 
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, Dy. CEO of BrahMos Aerospace, warmly welcomed Gen. Chanegriha, who visited along with senior officials from the Algerian Army and Air Force. Gen. Chanegriha appreciated the capabilities of the universal BRAHMOS missile.

Brazil Defence Minister Jose Mucio Monteiro along with a very high-level delegation visited the BrahMos pavilion. The Hon’ble Minister interacted with Dr. Joshi and BrahMos team and expressed his admiration for the powerful BRAHMOS missile. The 12th edition of the exclusive Brahmand World Defence Update, the military yearbook, an initiative of BrahMos Aerospace, was presented to Mr Jose.

Secretary Defence Production, Government of Brazil, Maj. Brig. Rui Chagas Mesquita and Commander of Brazilian Air Force, Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, also paid a visit to the BrahMos pavilion. The delegation included many officials of the Brazilian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The officials showed keen interest and enquired about BRAHMOS. Dr. Joshi apprised them about the universal BRAHMOS weapon system and its capabilities to secure Exclusive Economic Zone of any country in sovereign waters by being deployed on ship platforms and Coastal Defence Systems.

Dr. Joshi also had interactions with Secretary of International Affairs for Defence, Government of Argentina, Mr. Francisco Cafiero, who visited the BrahMos pavilion along with his industrial delegation. They were updated about the highly versatile BRAHMOS and its formidability.

Commander of Joint Forces, Peru, General Hugo Antonio Molina Carazas and his delegation of seniors officials including Peruvian Armed Forces personnel were briefed about the ‘universal’ missile’s incredible capabilities.

LAAD brings together manufacturers and suppliers of technology for the Armed Forces, Police, Special Forces, high executives of defence and security industry and from Government agencies. An impressive number of exhibitors participated in the biennial event showcasing Brazil’s rapidly expanding defence industrial base, its potential and leadership in the defence and security sectors.
 
BRAHMOS, the world’s fastest, one of its kind, universal supersonic cruise missile with cutting edge features has evolved over the years and added many more variants – from sea-to-land, sea-to-sea, land-to-land, land-to-sea, sub-sea-to-land, sub-sea to sea and air-to-land configurations. It has also achieved historic milestones by successfully indigenising major sub-systems such as booster, nose cap, canister, fuel management system and other major non-metallic airframe components. All launcher systems for the weapon are being manufactured domestically.
