A planetary triangle formed by the three planets in the evening sky
NEW DELHI (PTI): A celestial treat greeted star gazers on Sunday as three planets of the solar system formed a triangle in the sky.
"Venus, Mars and Saturn were seen forming a right-angle triangle in the night sky theatre," Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE) Director Chander Bhushan Devgun told PTI.
The three planets formed a triangle with Saturn in the western horizon, he said.
An ever-changing configuration of the planets Venus, Mars and Saturn was easily visible after the sunset, R C Kapoor, a scientist with Indian Institute of Astrophysics, said.
Mercury was, however, difficult to be seen through naked eyes as it was closest to the horizon as compared to the other luminaries, he added.
On August 13, the Moon will join these three planets and make an interesting combination, a sight astronomy gazers await.
