NEW DELHI (PTI): Veteran infantry officer Lt Gen K G Krishna today took over as the new Director General of Military Intelligence succeeding Lt Gen RN Singh, who retired from service.
A Grenadiers Regiment officer, Lt Gen Krishna was serving as Additional Director General Military Intelligence in the Army Headquarters prior to his new appointment.
He has vast field experience and commanded a Division in the northeast along the borders with China. He was promoted in the 'Staff' stream recently.
Three more officers are getting promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General tomorrow. They are Maj Gen Bobby Cherian Matthews, Maj Gen NPS Hira and Maj Gen Ashok Bhim Shivane.
All the three officers have been cleared for promotion in the 'Command and Staff' stream and will soon go ahead to be Corps Commanders in different parts of the country.
Maj Gen Matthews is at present the in-charge of Public Information department at the Army Headquarters while Shivane is in the Perspective Planning Directorate of the force.
