ORLANDO (BNS): Lockheed Marin has received a contract worth $85 million to provide maintenance support to the US Navy’s five ocean surveillance ships.

The one year contract, with four additional one-year options, is part of the Navy’s antisubmarine warfare mission.

The Surveillance Towed Array Sensor System programme provides sustainment and logistics management for all installed antisubmarine warfare mission systems, including passive and active surveillance equipment and computer network systems.

The ocean surveillance ships are operated by the Navy’s Military Sealift Command to support the anti-submarine warfare missions. The ships and their crews conduct training and missions worldwide.
