KOCHI (PTI): Sri Lankan Naval Ship (SLN) Sayura and Suranimila have arrived in Kochi on a four-day visit during which they will undertake exercises with Indian Naval ships off Kochi coast.
During the visit, various professional and social interactions have been planned at the Southern Naval Command.
The Commanding Officers of Sri Lanka Naval Ships called on the Chief of Staff Southern Naval Command R J Nadkarni, a Navy release said on Monday.
Other planned interactions during the stay of the Lankan ships include exchange of visits by specialist officers and personnel from both the navies as well as sports interactions, it said.
SLNS Sayura is an Offshore Patrol Vessel, while Suranimila is a Fast attack vessel (Missile) commanded by Captain Prasanna Amardasa and Captain P Vithana USP, respectively.
"The SLN ships will undertake exercises with Indian Naval Ships off Kochi before setting course to Sri-Lanka," the release added.
