KOCHI (PTI): Former President A P J Abdul Kalam will inaugurate a space science museum at nearby Pallikkara, on December 17.
The initiative of ISRO's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre is mainly to kindle a scientific interest among youngsters and children, former ISRO Chairman and Chairman of the museum project G Madhavan Nair told reporters.
India's achievements in space science and history would be exhibited at the museum. As part of this project, a space- wing and defence research centre would be started in six months at the park, he said.
Indira Rajan, CEO of the Park, said a 35 ft rocket, weighing over 1,800 kg, has been brought from ISRO, Bangalore and installed at the park.
DRDO is also associated with the park, she said.
A commemorative volume 'An Era of Indian Space Science' will be released at the function.
