Kazakhstan will host the third edition of the International Exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment "KADEX-2014" at the Air Force base in Astana from May 22 to May 25, 2014. The event will be organised by the Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defence.
The first edition of the defence exhibition, KADEX-2010, had showcased weapon systems of the land forces, navy, special purpose weapons and equipment, IT-technologies and communications and logistic support equipment.
In its second edition, held in May 2012, the event had witnessed the participation of 253 defence companies, including 83 domestic and 170 foreign, from 23 countries. The largest number of foreign companies were represented from Russia and Turkey.
A number of agreements were also signed during the event.
KADEX-2014 is being organised to provide a promising platform for the global defence industry to showcase and promote the latest advancements in military weapons and systems. It also aims to widen the sphere of military-technical collaboration between Kazakhstan and other countries as also to provide an opportunity to the domestic defence enterprise to exhibit its products for the Kazakh Armed Forces and also for the foreign market.
A higher participation of the global defence industry is expected in this year's exhibition as well.
