ZHUKOVSKY (BNS): Irkut Corporation is expecting a record numbers of contracts for its MS-21 medium-haul airplanes on the second day of MAKS-2011 airshow in Russia, a media report said Wednesday.
According to Itar-Tass, the Ilyushin Finance Co leasing company is expected to sign 28 MS-21 planes contract with Irkut Corporation.
In Farnborough international air show, 2010, the companies had signed a preliminary agreement for the planes and their price will be determined in a solid contract on the supply of aircraft.
An another contract of USD 3 billion is also expected to sign between the Russian airline Aeroflot plans and Russian Technologies State Corporation (Rostekhnologii) for 50 MS-21 plane, the report said.
The Irkut MS-21 (Airliner of the 21st Century) is a proposed series of three twin-engine short-range and mid-range Russian jet airliners with a capacity of 150-212 passengers being developed and to be produced by Irkut and Yakovlev Design Bureau of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) group, it said.
