TEHRAN (BNS): Iran has claimed that it has successfully tested an indigenous aircraft that can evade radar detection.

The prototype of the stealth drone � named Sofreh Mahi � was flight-tested and �successfully passed all radar-evading tests that we desired,� Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Air Force, General Aziz Nasirzadeh, was quoted as saying by Fars New Agency.

�The drone, due to its physical attributes and the material used in its body, cannot be detected by any radar,� state-run Press TV quoted the official as stating.

The General said data from the test-flight had been �favorable�, adding that the Iranian Air Force was planning to acquire them.

He, however, said that the newly-built aircraft would undergo thorough testing and exhaustive evaluation before its production starts.
