TEHRAN (BNS): Iran has claimed that it has successfully tested an indigenous aircraft that can evade radar detection.

The prototype of the stealth drone – named Sofreh Mahi – was flight-tested and “successfully passed all radar-evading tests that we desired,” Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Air Force, General Aziz Nasirzadeh, was quoted as saying by Fars New Agency.

“The drone, due to its physical attributes and the material used in its body, cannot be detected by any radar,” state-run Press TV quoted the official as stating.

The General said data from the test-flight had been “favorable”, adding that the Iranian Air Force was planning to acquire them.

He, however, said that the newly-built aircraft would undergo thorough testing and exhaustive evaluation before its production starts.
