TEHRAN (BNS): Iran's air force has enhanced the capabilities of its Sukhoi 24 strategic aircraft which has successfully test fired laser missiles recently, a senoir air force official has said.
"Our experts have revived important capabilities of Sukhoi-24, including its laser missiles, radar-guided air-to-ground missiles and long-range missiles," Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Air Force for Operations, General Seyed Mohammad Alavi, was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
The air force test-fired laser missiles from the aircraft recently, which hit the target "with zero-zero error," the Commander said.
The air force also plans to test fire the long-range, radar-guided high-precision missiles from the Su-24 fighter bomber in near future, the official added.
The Su-24 is a Soviet-era supersonic all-weather attack aircraft operated by Iran since the 1990s.
