TEHRAN (BNS): Iran has designed and developed three new helicopters including a ‘radar-evading’ chopper, a military official of the Islamic Republic said.
General Mohammad Ali Ahmadabadi told Fars News Agency that one of the helicopters has been designed to replace training jet choppers while the second called Saba has been made for marine, rescue and relief and transportation missions.
The third is the semi-heavy Homa helicopter which can carry 14 people on board. It can be armed with various weapons systems and also equipped with a radar-evading capability, the report quoting the General said.
The three helicopters have already passed tests and received flight approvals and is waiting for the final license to start their mass production, he added.
The third helicopter would be used in military training. The helicopters are being built by Iran Helicopters Logistics and Renovation Organization (IHLRO).
