The International Defense Exhibition for Land Forces (IDELF) is one of the largest defense exhibitions hosted by Russia and organised by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
IDELF 2010, the 4th in the series, will be held from June 30 to July 4 in Moscow.
The biennial exhibition will primarily showcase Russian military equipment and innovative technologies with an objective to expand the base of Russia's military products in the global arms market, besides ensuring their supply to the Russian Defense Ministry.
It will also be a platform to consolidate the efforts of public authorities, the Russian Defense Ministry experts and law enforcement agencies, research and educational institutions, public organizations and associations, businesses, media on combating international terrorism.
Set up in an area of 50,000 square meters, IDELF 2010 is expected to attract about four lakh exhibitors and visitors from across the globe.
The visitors’ list includes civil defence officials, police forces, international embassies, anti- terrorism squad, customs department, immigration officials, emergency planning division, railway, civil aviation, army, navy, air force, political leaders /advisors, research institutions, traffic & transport security and safety planners.
IDELF 2008 was attended by over 400 companies from 24 countries. More than 500 foreign representatives from 119 nations, including representatives of the military-political leadership and business community, consisting of 35 official delegations, as well as ambassadors and military attaches from 78 nations had attended the exhibition.
The IDELF is also known as ‘MBCB’ and ‘MVSV’ in most parts of the world.
