Indonesian Naval ship arrives at Kochi port


The naval frigate of Indonesia.

KOCHI (PTI): Indonesian Naval ship KRI Bung Tomo, a multi-role light frigate, has arrived at the Kochi port on a two-day visit.

Captain Yayan Sofyan is the Commanding Officer of the ship which reached at Kochi on Tuesday, a Navy release said.

During the visit, various interactions with Southern Naval Command have been planned.

Sofyan called on Rear Admiral RB Pandit, the Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command on Wednesday, the release said.

"Other planned interaction includes exchange of visits by specialist officers and men from both the navies with Indian Navy personnel visiting the Indonesian Naval ships and Indonesian personnel visiting the training facilities at Southern Naval Command," it said.

Sporting fixtures, including volleyball and badminton matches, were also held.

The ship had earlier visited Kochi in September 2014 post its induction into the Indonesian Navy.

KRI Bung Tomo is en route to Salalah.
