JAKARTA (BNS): Indonesia signed a $114 million contract with Russian state-led Rosoboronexport for 37 second-generation amphibious infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3F.
According to a news report in The Jakarta Globe, Indonesian Navy will receive the BMP vehicles in July 2013.
The BMP contract will be implemented under the $1 billion export credit given by RUssia to Indonesia in 2007. Indonesia is planning to spend the amount on the procurement of ten Mi-17 transport helicopters, five Mi-35M attack helicopters, twenty BMP-3F amphibious vehicles, and two Project 877 Paltus diesel submarines.
BMP-3F vehicles for Indonesia will be manufactured by JSC Kurganmashzavod. Exported amphibious vehicles are expected to operate at 3-grade storm.
