NEW DELHI (PTI): Defence Secretary G Mohan Kumar was on Monday given additional charge of Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, for three months.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, to Kumar for a period of three months or till a regular incumbent is appointed, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Earlier, the then Defence Secretary R K Mathur was holding the additional charge of the post. Mathur, who completed his term as Defence Secretary on Monday, was on January 30 this year, given the additional charge of the same post for three months.
Mathur had then taken the charge from Avinash Chander, who had demitted office after the government curtailed his extended contract which otherwise would have ended in May 2016.
