HYDERABAD (BNS): Indian Army has recently awarded a Rs. 300 crore contract to Bharat Dynamics for the procurement of Milan 2T, a second generation, anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
According to a report in The Hindu Business Line, deal was signed on Saturday by the Hyderabad-based, Defence Public Sector Undertaking with the Union Government in New Delhi.
MILAN is a European anti-tank guided missile. The company has produced Milan ATGMs since 1983.
Milan 2T has a single main shaped charge, with smaller shape charge warhead at end of standoff probe to defeat reactive armour. The missile has a range of about 2 km with a tandem warhead.
The Milan 2Ts will be used for both infantry and anti-tank purposes.
