NEW DELHI (PTI): Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag will on Wednesday leave on a four-day visit to Nepal during which he will be conferred the title of honorary rank of General of Nepal Army.
He will be conferred the title by President Ram Baran Yadav at a special function there.
He is visiting the country at the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart Gen Gaurav Shumsher Rana.
Soon after his arrival, Suhag will lay a wreath at the Bir Smarak at Tundikhel following which he will call on CoAS Rana.
The next day, he will meet President Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and visit the Kavre-based Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre.
Suhag will also visit Mustang-based army academy on November 14.
Nepal and India have an old tradition of conferring the title of the chief of the army staff by respective heads of the state.
This is the Army Chief's second visit to abroad. He had visited Bhutan earlier this month.
