NEW DELHI (PTI): India and Spain have signed a defence cooperation pact which will facilitate cooperation in exchanging defence-related experience, information, encouraging visits of personnel, collaboration in defence industry and other similar areas of cooperation.

The defence cooperation agreement is part of the five pacts inked between the two sides after comprehensive talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and King Juan Carlos I of Spain on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Other pacts included a protocol for amending the over 19-year-old double taxation avoidance pact to check tax evasion, an MoU in the roads and road transport sector, aimed at promoting efficient and environmentally sustainable transport systems.
