India, Russia share privileged strategic partnership: Ambassador Kadakin

NEW DELHI (BNS): H E Alexander M Kadakin, Russian Ambassador to India has given a message for the upcoming National Day of Russia and praised the growing relations between India and Russia.

"June 12, the day of Russia symbolises the emergence of modern Russia as a democratic state based on civil liberties and supremacy of law," Indian Express quoted Mr Kadakin as saying.

He has also highlighted the historic Soviet-Indian Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation, which will turn 40 on August 9. "It was the first document that USSR had signed with a non-socialist, non-aligned country, thus emphasizing the special role of India in our foreign policy," he added.

At the turn of the second decade of the 21st century, Russian-Indian relations have reached the highest level of special privileged strategic partnership, he said.

He has also highlighted the Indo-Russia ambitious plans for the future to fill the cooperation between the two nations on concrete substance.
