KOCHI (BNS): The Indian and French armies will begin joint exercises called ‘Exercise Shakti’ by September or October of this year, a media report said.
“The air force and navies of the two countries have conducted joint exercises, while army units were scheduled to hold drills soon,” Frontier India quoted French Defence Minister Gerard Longuet as saying.
Recently, the Navies and Air Forces of the two nations had successfully completed Varuna and Garuda series of joint exercises.
According to the reports, the joint army exercise was finalised during the three-day visit of the French Army Chief General Elrick Irastorza to India in February.
