SRINAGAR (PTI): India and China have agreed to open a new Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) point in Chushul area of Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The BPM point is likely to be opened at Chushul on August 15," Defence sources said.
They said the border personnel of India and China have been meeting regularly at the Line of Actual Control to sort out the differences over the LAC.
Recently, Army's Northern Commander Lt General D S Hooda told reporters at Drass on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas that India and China have perceptional differences over the LAC.
"There are some areas where there is difference in perception of Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Chinese army patrols what they feel their perception is and we patrol up to what we feel our perception is. So, just as we look at Chinese action as transgression, they look at our actions as transgression.
"But the overall sense there is that there needs to be peace and calm on the border," Hooda said on Sunday.
