NEW DELHI (BNS): Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled its unique and advanced Combat Team Battle Management System (CT-BMS) at Defexpo 2014 exhibition being held at Pragati Maidan.
The CT-BMS, developed by IAI's subsidiary and group, ELTA Systems Ltd., is specifically designed to address the challenges of tactical land forces command, control, collaboration and realtime situational awareness.
According to Joseph Weiss, IAI's CEO & President, the CT-BMS provides the next generation C4I system for the combat team and battalion level.
"The system addresses the challenges of the modern battlefield with advanced multimedia BMS applications and collaboration tools that deliver voice, data and video to hundreds of users from battalion level to individual soldiers," he said.
The CT-BMS connects combatants, tactical sensors, weapons systems, combat platforms, headquarters and supporting forces to create realtime common situational awareness for the entire combat team.
Coupled with advanced automation, collaboration and mission planning tools, the CT-BMS command and control software provides full battle planning and management capabilities -even down to the level of individual soldiers.
The novel design of the CT-BMS is based on client-server architecture whereby multiple CT-BMS software servers create a fully redundant and accessible combat team Intranet that provides secure access and services to BMS clients.
CT-BMS was designed to support ELTA's on-the-move Tac4G tactical 4G cellular network. The system can also operate with a wide variety of communication networks including Combat Net Radio (CNR), line of sight (LOS) or satellite communication (SATCOM).
