TEL AVIV (BNS): The Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has handed over a converted B767-200ER (Extended Range) Multi Mission Tanker Transport (MMTT) aircraft to the Colombian Air Force.

The modified aircraft, with mid-air refuelling capability, was handed over to the CAF at the IAI's facilities next to Ben Gurion International Airport on November 4, the company said.

IAI was tasked to convert the Boeing 767-200ER aircraft of the CAF into a Multi Mission Tanker Transport configuration. The aircraft was converted by IAI’s Bedek Aviation Group.

The tanker conversion project lasted for over two years, according to IAI.

The MRTT, equipped with two Wing Air Refueling Pods (WARPs) of ARP3 model manufactured by IAI, had recently undergone a series of flight trials during which it had conducted mid-air refueling of a C10 Kfir fighter aircraft.
