NEW DELHI (BNS): Indian Air Force’s Air Warriors Drill Team (AWDT) for the first time performed outside the country at Bangladesh Air Force Base (BAF) in Dhaka, on Monday.
The team comprises 28 young air warriors who demonstrated advanced synchronised rifle drill movements in eight different formations using the vintage .303 rifles, weighing around four kilograms for their display.
Since its formation in 2004, the unique display team has performed in more than 70 displays across the country. AWDT’s main objective is to project a dynamic and vibrant image of the IAF.
During the next six days, the team will perform at various Bangladeshi air bases including Chittagong, Jessore and at the Indian High Commission, said a Press Information Bureau statement.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, BAF Chief and several other senior military personnel witnessed the display.
