JODHPUR (PTI): Terming the ongoing modernisation process of the Indian Air Force as a challenge, IAF Chief N A K Browne has said his force is fully capable of meeting the new benchmark set for it.

Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne was Tuesday addressing a gathering of Air Warriors during his first visit to Jodhpur air base under the South Western Air Command (SWAC).

"As part of the IAF's modernisation drive, all our bases are undergoing a fair amount of transformation. Managing these changes is a challenge before us, and I am fully confident that my people are fully capable of meeting these challenges," ACM Browne said.

As part of a two-day visit to SWAC and forward air bases in the western sector, the IAF Chief has visited the units and squadrons based at Jodhpur air station and interacted with the squadron officers.

Stressing upon the need of enabling Air Warriors, he said, "We have identified our training and consolidation requirements as the key focus areas but it is our people who are our real enablers. Their care is most important."

He said that efforts of people in the force must be recognised and acknowledged.

The Air Chief reviewed all the operational installations and new inductions at the base.

ACM Browne would be visiting Command Headquarters at Gandhinagar over the next two days and would interact with its Commanders.
