NEW DELHI (PTI): Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne is on a three-day visit to Brazil during which he will review the progress of DRDO's Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft being developed there.
During the visit, the IAF chief will hold meetings with top leadership of Brazil including its Defence Minister Celso Amorin and chief of its Air Force Air Lieutenant Brigadier Juniti Saito and Army Chief General Enzo Martins Peri to strengthen military ties between the two sides, IAF said in a release.
Browne will also visit the Brazilian Air Force Academy located at Pirassununga, Sao Paulo, its First Training Squadron and other training facilities, besides interacting with the cadets.
He would also visit the Embraer facility located at Sao Jose dos Campos where the three aircraft for DRDO's AEW&C programme are being manufactured.
The delivery of the first aircraft was taken by the DRDO there last week and it is scheduled to arrive in India on August 22.
