NAGPUR (PTI): Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha would inaugurate the two-day annual Maintenance Command Commanders' Conference in Nagpur on Monday and review progress of various plans and projects.
The conference to be held at Headquarters, Maintenance Command, of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Vayusena Nagar, would be inaugurated by Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, a release from Defence PRO Wing Commander Sameer Gangakhedkar said.
The IAF chief would address the Commanders and also review progress of various projects and plans, the release stated.
Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh, Air Officer Commanding in-Chief, Maintenance Command, has extended the invite to the Chief of Air Staff, it said, adding units with outstanding performance shall be awarded trophies.
Ever since its inception on October 8, 1932, the Indian Air Force has metamorphosed from a Tactical Air Force to become an extremely professional and multi-spectrum force with strategic reach, the release stated.
The Maintenance Command has a geographical spread across the country, with units engaged in overhaul, repair, product support and supply chain management of the assets, it said.
The Command has acquainted itself with indigenisation of spares, modernisation of production facilities, warehousing and the supply chain management, the release added.
