IAF Chief inaugurates Maintenance Command commanders' meet

NAGPUR (PTI): Chief of Air Staff B S Dhanoa on Monday called for effective utilisation of available resources for operational readiness at all times.

He said the Nagpur-headquartered Maintenance Command has a major role in maintaining the war fighting equipment of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The Air Chief Marshal was speaking after inaugurating the Maintenance Command Commanders' Conference at Vayu Sena Nagar in Nagpur.

The two-day conference is being attended by commanders of Base Repair Depots (BRDs), Equipment Depots (EDs) and other units/stations under the IAF's Maintenance Command, a defence press release said.

The progress of various on-going maintenance activities and projects at various units is being reviewed during the meet, it said.

In his inaugural address, the Chief of Air Staff reiterated effective utilisation of available resources for operational readiness at all times.

He said the Maintenance Command has a major role in maintaining the war fighting equipment and urged them to keep pace with the rapid upgradation of modern technologies being incorporated by the IAF.

He congratulated field commanders for excellent performance and quality output given by all the BRDs and EDs during exercise ‘Gagan Shakti’.

The IAF Chief presented trophies to BRD and ED that had excelled in their core professional work.
