IAF Chief P V Naik
NEW DELHI (PTI): Air Chief Marshal P V Naik on Tuesday took over as the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC), replacing the present incumbent Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor who retires on Wednesday.
He received the baton of COSC from Kapoor at a brief ceremony in the South Block.
On the occasion, Naik said the Indian armed forces were in the process of "moulding existing and emerging concepts" together, to develop capabilities and solutions that will directly benefit the forces and the joint warfighters of tomorrow.
In his farewell address, General Deepak Kapoor said a number of important ongoing issues like networking for spectrum, Ballistic Missile Defence and space-based systems need to be addressed jointly.
Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma was also present on the occasion.
