NAGPUR (PTI): Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on Monday inaugurated the annual Indian Air Force Maintenance Command Commanders' Conference at Vayusena Nagar in Nagpur and complimented the officials for their efforts towards indigenisation and centre of excellence.
In his speech, Raha expressed "utmost satisfaction over the strategic planning of the Base Repair Depots and Equipment Depots and the ability of Maintenance Command to synergies the dynamic challenge of multiple inventory management system," a defence release said.
He also complimented the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and all the personnel of the Command for their efforts towards "indigenisation and centre of excellence", it stated.
Air officer Commanding in Chief, Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh, in his inaugural address apprised the Chief of the Air Staff that Headquarters Maintenance Command has been striving hard in every respect in supporting the operations of the Air Force.
The IAF Chief emphasised on the importance of retrieving and reviving old infrastructure which would save lot of expenditure to the national exchequer, the release said.
Raha also lauded the efforts of Maintenance Command in saving precious lives and property during natural calamities in Uttarakhand and Chennai.
