BANGALORE (BNS): Indian aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed an agreement to provide long-term support towards all variants of BrahMos programmes.
HAL will install and augment required facilities to meet the current and the future programme expectations under the technical support of Research Center Imarat (RCI), a DRDO agency dedicated for development of inertial systems, a statement issued by the Company said.
The agreement was signed on Monday at a meeting attended by Dr.R.K. Tyagi, Chairman, HAL, and Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai, CEO & MD, BrahMos Aerospace and other top officials from both the sides.
The BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile is a precision strike weapon already inducted by the Indian Army and Navy. It can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft and land. The missile has a flight range of 290 km with a speed of 2.8 Mach.
