ONTARIO (BNS): General Dynamics Land Systems (Canada) has received a $138 million contract from the US Army to supply 82 Light Armored Vehicles for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
The company, a part of US defence conglomerate General Dynamics, will begin delivery of the vehicles in January 2012.
The vehicles to be delivered under the contract are the LAV II versions.
The LAV II is a 300 horsepower 8x8 vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 14,500 kg.
The vehicles will be produced in four different variants, the company said.
