GE & JV companies sign $16 bln deal at Farnborough


FARNBOROUGH (BNS): GE Aviation along with its joint venture companies CFM International and the Engine Alliance, has announced a $16 billion (USD) engine and services deal at the 2010 Farnborough Air Show.

"GE Aviation is excited with the tremendous amount of engine and services orders that received at the 2010 Farnborough Air Show," David Joyce, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation, said in a company news release.

GE Aviation and its joint companies have garnered $11 billion in engine orders and $5 billion in long-term service agreements.

The contract involves some top companies from aviation industries such as, Emirates, Air China, China Eastern Airlines, GE Capital Aviation Services, Afriqiyah Airways, TAAG (Angola Airlines), zul Linhas Aereas , TRIP Linhas Aereas, LAN Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Flybe , Air Lease Corporation, Air Arabia, RBS Aviation Capital, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Avolon, China's OKAY airlines, China's Spring Airlines, Air Austral, Qatar Airways and Republic Airways.
