MOSCOW (BNS): A Mi-2 helicopter crashed in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area in West Siberia on Monday injuring four people, according to local emergency services.
The helicopter carrying two crewmembers and two passengers on board went missing at 11:30 am Moscow time (08:30 GMT) and rescue services reported that they found the crashed aircraft in the Nefteyugansk district at 3:36 p.m. Moscow time (12:36 GMT).
Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoting emergency services said that as a result of the crash people in the copter received injuries.
This accident involving a Mi8 helicopter is the second in less than a week. A Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Altai, south Siberia, on Friday, killing seven people, including the Russian president's envoy to the State Duma, Alexander Kosopkin. The crashed helicopter wreckage was discovered on Sunday last.
The agency said that the Mi-2 helicopter, owned by the Russian air company Convers Avia, was making a flight to check facilities owned by Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft's largest oil-producing enterprise, located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.
