MOSCOW (BNS): Yury Solomonov, Chief designer, said Tuesday that the nuclear warheads have been completed for Russia's new Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).

Yury Solomonov told interviewers the nuclear payload will be ready for four Bulava test launches in December, the official Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.

The tests will be carried out from the Borei-class nuclear-powered missile submarine Yury Dolgoruky.

The last two successful launches of the missile were conducted in October this year from the Navy’s Dmitry Donskoy nuclear submarine in the White Sea.

Russia is developing the Bulava to equip its military with advanced defence capabilities and making it resistant to missile-defence systems.

The Bulava missile, with a range of over 8,000 kilometers, is capable of carrying up to 10 multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle warheads. It is being developed to equip the Russian military with advanced defence capabilities.
