Elbit Systems bags contracts worth $315 mn

HAIFA, ISRAEL (BNS): Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems has received contracts worth $315 million from the country's Defence Ministry to provide various systems and equipment to Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Under a contract worth $75 million, the company will deliver battle management systems and avionics for helicopters, virtual training for the Israeli Air Force's fighter aircraft array and operation and maintenance services for the IAF's Flight Academy over a six-year period.

Under another contract worth $90 million, Elbit will supply the Hermes 900 unmanned aircraft systems within three years, along with maintenance services spanning over a period of eight years.

It will also supply Electronic Warfare (EW) systems over the next four years for the air force's F-15 and F-16 fighter jets and for the Navy's missile vessels under a contract valued at around $90 million.

The other contracts make provision for supplying Electro-Optic Systems (advanced observation and long-range target acquisition systems) worth $25 million over a three-year period; and delivery of Cardom electronic and mortar artillery systems, known in the Israel Defense Forces as 'Keshet', worth around $35 million, over a six-year period, the company said.
