Dubai Airshow to welcome record 1,000 exhibitors

DUBAI (PTI): Dubai Airshow organiser F&E Aerospace has officially started the build-up to the 12th edition of the event, now less than eight weeks away.

Running from November 13 to 17, 2011, at the city’s Airport Expo, the 12th Dubai Airshow will be the biggest yet, with up to 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, an increase of 12 per cent in comparison to the 2009 event, and more than 55,000 trade visitors expected, a 6 per cent increase from 2009.

New companies account for some 20 per cent of the growth in this edition of Dubai Airshow and a number of key aircraft-manufacturing countries, such as Australia, France, Jordan and the USA, have increased their exhibition stand and/or chalet and pavilion area to optimise their presence.

Alison Weller, Managing Director of F&E Aerospace, said the overall growth of the show will be about 10 per cent.

“Space is being made available this year by the increasing trend by exhibitors to move their presence outside, creating pavilions along the static park line, which offers their guests the opportunity to enjoy networking and hospitality facilities, while being close to the aircraft on display,” Weller said.

The Dubai Airshow is organised in cooperation with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Airports and the UAE Armed Forces.
